Corporation Quote of the Day: D. Jensen

“Surely by now there can be few here who still believe the purpose of government is to protect us from the destructive activities of corporations. At last most of us must understand that the opposite is true: that the primary purpose of government is to protect those who run the economy from the outrage of injured citizens.”
Derrick Jensen, Endgame, Vol. 1

Bernie & Hillary are but 2 hypotheses in our search for the cure

I think I might understand why the more-liberal-than-progressives are fighting against the More-progressive-than-liberals all over the internet… why we are having such unruly fights between Bernie-Believers And Clinton-Colleagues in our online left-wing communities.  I think you’ll see after reading this that we really have to stop tearing each other down.  It’s easy for me to say because, for some weird reason, as of early February 2016, I am still undecided, not as to which dream I like better, Bernie’s, but which choice gets us to that dream soonest and best. Liberals have always been the center way that provides more for the average working family.  Unions are liberal. FDR centrists are liberal. Kennedys are liberal.

heres-where-hillary-clinton-and-bernie-sanders-stand-on-the-issues
Kennedys are not always progressive.  Progressives can be either Democratic Party or, as in the case of Teddy Roosevelt, GOP. Progressives want big change and they want it sooner.  Progressives define progress for the era and then go after it tenaciously. They are a necessary ingredient in health democracy.

Millennials:
Here is why voters born after 1980 are more progressive than they are liberal. Reaganomics.  They have no memory of a world before Reaganomics; the giving of the economic gains to the richest and expecting them to make life better for everyone else after they consume and crap out their billions. To the under-35-year-old, this has always been the way… and like AT&T bills for “long distance,” this way of doing things is lo-tech and needs to be hacked. They did the research.

They know that if every adult over 24 brought in 75-95 thousand dollars a year while doing what they love to do, they wouldn’t want or need more money… they would simply want to create, innovate and sell new ideas to the world both physically and digitally. To the Millennial, the solution to our economic injustice is simple: take the entire US economy as a pie, and divide it up so that everyone has enough and the rich, while still existing, are not as rich.  They believe, according to the research, that even the RICH would be happier and better off this way.  So since they know that the system is rigged, how it’s rigged and why it’s rigged.. they are sick of anyone who wants to try to work within it.  No.  No more internet service over copper landlines.   Don’t try to make outmoded systems work.

It’s a totally understandable position, and one of these years, they are going to throw out the old ways, and a whole new landscape of citizens, servants and predators will emerge… it will be a new game with problems of its own.  But they want it.
_
Boomers and Gen-X:
People born before 1979 remember Carter, Reagan and Bush 1. Baby boomers remember Johnson and the war on Poverty.  Gen-X remembers the change too. We remember Gingrich and we remember what Clinton had to do to survive the tidal wave of super-capitalism and corporatism.  He had to join it and use it to make life better for the working family. That’s what he did.  He triangulated between the most right wing and the most left wing of the mainstream political landscape. It worked. Clinton was elected by ⅓ of the American voters and transformed himself into a leader who much more than half the nation trusted by the end of his first term. He sought and won the protection of Wall St. elites and large industries other than Oil and Pharma.  He played ball with the Military Complex and he gave into Rupert Murdoch and GOP law makers… and with that compromise, balanced the budget, cleaned up the environment, expanded gay rights, expanded women’s opportunities, got people off of welfare, avoided military adventures for resources, banned assault weapons, reduced poverty… raised some taxes… all that centrist liberal stuff.   It worked.  We who remember it know it.   We also know that Obama, the first Gen-X president, came in dreaming of bigger changes with only his read on history to guide him.  When he went to triangulate with the right, he found unprecedented hate and opposition. We know what that means. We know that without some cooperation between deal-makers, nothing moves. Nothing gets better.
_
So a lot of us born during and after the 60s but before the 80s are torn.  We see both sides.  Bernie stands for the end of Reaganomics.  Clinton stands for forward motion from where we stand today.  We don’t know if Bernie can do the things we all dream about.  We feel, rightly or wrongly, as if we know Hillary can do at least as well as Bill did, and probably better with her greater knowledge of the game.

One thing I think all of us are feeling is that a PRESIDENT can’t save us anymore. We need new unions, new political organizations, new politics  and a return to an active MIDDLE CLASS.
_
Whichever Democrat wins the White House will likely untangle the Supreme Court of the United States and make a HUGE difference in progress against predatory capitalism going forward. But what is the best way?  Will Hillary’s pragmatism and experience with the Reagonomic-Status-Quo be the best way to actually gain the progress the Bernie supporters ultimately want? Or will Bernie light a fire under the asses of a whole new crop of people who have been sitting out elections, causing fundamental changes in the make up of government and by extension the economic lives of men, women, LGBT, pink, brown, “red”., “yellow” , Muslim, Mormon, Protestant, Catholic, Jewish and Atheists alike?

I know that a lot of you Democratic Primary Voters think you  *know the answer… but I contend that you merely *believe your answer is best. We don’t know for sure. So let’s admit that … and stop beating up others who, just like you, don’t know for sure…. but want the same end results.  Just because you don’t think Hillary can make the copper wire work for WIFI, doesn’t mean you call her a C-word and then demonize her supporters.  That’s just not going to help anyone but the post-Reagan corporate class.  Just because you don’t think Bernie’s dream is something Bernie himself can accomplish at this time, doesn’t mean you lie about him and call the Bernie supporter a sexist commie. Look, we all want a thriving middle class with a cleaner environment and an end to the racism and sexism and hatred of the 20th century. We all want social justice and a system that works the way modern people know it can and should.

Let’s not forget that.
Let’s speak to each other as members of the same experiment… just trying different formulas.

I love you guys.

A Movement to the Left

CorpBaby-main
Friends, Americans, Patriots.
I'd like to discuss the seriously sick goals of the American Right, the GOP and their corporate owners as it relates to elections in 2020 and 2024, and what we need to be prepared to do to stop those goals from ever coming to fruition.
Whenever there are big political movements the people who want to hold on to the old ways *don’t tend to do as well as the people with a new vision over time. A movement, in American politics , is a powerful thing. There was a deep and large movement that swept FDR into the white house. The same is true of Reagan and Gingrich. Whoever has the “let’s conserve things as they are and merely update as necessary” pitch to the voter does well in good times. When there is a movement, however, the movement builds and if it gets big enough, it wins.
The Obama goals were • “let’s keep things as they are but stop blocking the traditional roles of government.”
• “What do you say we improve funding for the current health care system?”
• “Let’s take fighting troops out of the Bush wars, leaving lots of advisers and use lots of drones?”
• “To get the wealthy to pay their fair share, let’s allow some ridiculous Bush tax cuts to sunset…”
• “To improve the lives of most Americans, let’s raise the minimum wage to $11 in 2040” (lol)
While the GOP has very different goals that are all about changing everything. They want top-down royal power who is a white “strong man”… who will make America WHITE again. Make America HATE again. RE-CRIMINALIZE being any race other than pink, any religion other than protestant christian and any kind of woman other than obedient, pregnant and making *sammiches at home. They want a new pink-ruled world of sharks and fish in the market place. Those who cheat best own and keep the whole game of monopoly… again, because that power will keep the non-pink-people DOWN. They want to feel strong and righteous as bombs kill brown people all over the world. They’ll live in a cracker-box house as long as the black family lives in a hut or under a tarp. Everyone will say, “I love Jesus…” or they will be hassled, beat up and maybe kicked out to the neutral zone. They have a vision. They are not messing around. They want states to be able to nullify the constitution when it comes to race and rights. Their owners want to be free of regulations state by state, but the voters figure that’s the cost of stopping the loss of white male privilege.
_
I think some of us… definitely me and a lot of my friends,  prefer to have our own goals for the future. We want a vision of the future that moves us farther down the FDR road, and doesn’t merely preserve what we have. We wish candidates for all branches would run on things like **this:

• Universal Single Payer Not For Profit Healthcare including Dental.
• Universal Single Payer Not For Profit Public College
• Universal College Loans with total debt forgiveness after 10 years.
• Universal Quality Childcare for All Americans
• Universal Pre-K for all Americans
• Improved K-12 (not teaching to a test) for all Americans
• Children shall be safe from abuse and molestation, the punishments are stricter and the supervision of children in public and private institutions will be on camera and analyzed by specialized behavior recognition systems.
• Gaslighting women who are victims of sexual abuse is now illegal. Lawyers may not impune the victim to create doubt in a jury.
• Equal pay for women after the UBI and more time off for all new families as well as tax paid support personnel from your states and counties. Moving homes, the first weeks of a new baby and other family needs are now covered by your society.
• A super smart power grid powered with no fossil fuel or nuclear rods
• Amend the constitution: Money is property and corporations are legal fictions... not people with rights.
• Maximum wage/ Maximum wealth - every dollar over a billion is taxed at 99% Wealth over a billion must be invested in they UBI system and/or a business that employs others.
* An unconditional basic income (UBI) of 26,500 a year for every adult over 18, adjusted every 4 year for inflation. Guaranteed no matter how much more you make after that... only taxed at 99% after a billion.
• No income tax on the non-wealthy, any/all deductions from paychecks go to the UBI until your first dollar over $100,000.00 per individual.
• A new layer of public order called "Constables" who highly intelligent trained professionals who keep the peace and de-escalate problems in smaller communities they serve. They are never armed with lethal weapons. They only use tasers in extreme cases and are well trained not to ever let it get that far.
• Armed "Police" will be fewer in number and limited to active shooter incidents.. and other super villains and violent crowds. More robot policing that are programmed not to be afraid of people's skin color.
• Universal guarantee to housing and nursing care for those who are now termed "homeless."
• The right to death with dignity
• Wifi is Universal and paid for by taxes. Boosted wired internet speeds are available for homes and offices and public property, but the connection can be a private company.  The fees would be closer to $10 a month for those companies to maintain your connection.
• Driverless Cars are the norm - the federal government invests in infrastructure.
• Bike lanes are now Bike Highways. Separate structures that are unrelated to roads with cars on them.  A separate system of well made and well maintained highways for those who use travel and errands as exercise.
• Fossil Fuels are rarely used, only for construction and the military
• A smaller military budget... much smaller.
• Full rights to all couples and families of any mix of skin color, sex and gender identification
• Protection of the separation of church and state and the right not to participate in religion
• Automatic birth control in your teen years with full scientific sex education, no exceptions. Automatic STI prevention education and medicines for all Americans. Abortions are legal, safe and at record lows (rare).
• Privacy rights are restored and stronger
• Habeas Corpus is again the law and stronger
• No more theater... fear of terrorism is forbidden. No more TSA. No more scans, pokes, prods.  You simply have trained professionals who say hello to travelers at the check points who know what to look for.  When something happens, we stay calm and refuse to get scared, they update their methods.
• Authoritarian Propaganda on behalf of the corporate class is illegal and punishable by jail and heavy fines.
• The word "News" has a strict definition.  Fox will have to change it's name and much of what it does now will be illegal propaganda.  Knowingly lying to voters by the media is illegal.
• All currently criminalized drugs are all made legal but they (and current prescription drugs) are very highly regulated. Profiteering off of and price gouging the taxpayer is strictly forbidden.  No more war on drugs.
Can you think of more?
Keeping things as they are is not a vision for the future.
The fascists have a loud and tarted up vision of the future.
We have a smart one. We should spread the ideas and run on them.

The Fault for Paris?

Remember: ISIS and AL QAEDA in IRAQ would not exist had Cheney not lied us into "war" (invasion, murder, occupation) in Iraq on behalf of his oil plans. Cheney could not have done any of that had Bush not *ceded power to the Vice President's office. ISIS and AL QAEDA in IRAQ ... and the murders in Paris are therefore, mostly the fault of George W. Bush and his people.

All Americans Are Liberals

Liberal?

George Washington called all Americans liberal. The word means, “We don’t need kings”… many conservatives from the Slave South actually did not agree with that. They liked a royal system and behaved that way for decades after our founding (some still do). Today most Americans don’t want kings… we are all liberal, by definition. Some of us, like me, Corp, are GENERAL WELFARE LIBERALS, meaning we think that taxes should be returned to the people as services, infrastructure, environmental health and some financial subsidies.

No death, no sacrifice

Virgin Mary

Did Mary mother of Jesus enjoy being impregnated by God that night? Was there pleasure? Did it bother her that the impregnater/pleasurer was, in fact… 9 mos later… her own son?

Did God become Jesus to sacrifice himself to himself? That would mean no death occurred. If there was no death, how is it a sacrifice?  What was the Crucifixion for then? I think this is a story of the fantasies of goat-herders.

Christianity’s main story is so illogical, it’s no wonder that American Christians are responsible for so much insanity in our laws.
